Andi Blume 1943 – 2025 Boone, Iowa Andi O’Lena Blume, 82, passed from this life into eternity on March 18, 2025, joining her husband of 17 years, Dr. Allen J. Blume. Andrea Louise Siegenthaler was born in Atlantic, IA, the sixth of seven children, to George and Wilma (Powell) Siegenthaler, on February 16, 1943. She married a farmer/military man and raised three children in the Ogden Community as a homemaker. Andi felt the most important job she ever held was being a mom and raising her children and while doing so, she was given the opportunity to experience several part time positions with Hidden Acres Church Camp, Fuller Brush Sales, The Vault Restaurant where she was a waitress, and a Homemaker Health Aide for Boone County. During the 1980’s, she and two of her closest friends worked with volunteers and a local Doctor to bring Hospice care to Boone County residents. She received her Administrative Secretary degree from DMACC in May 1990 and went on to work for Fareway Corporate Headquarters in Boone for 11 years. On December 1, 2001, she married her soul mate, Dr. Allen Blume, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Andi later self-published several books, including the series A Day in the Life of Miss Scarlett O'Hara: In the Beginning, and A Day in the Life of Scarlett O'Hara: Live, Learn and EXILE, which continue to be sold on Amazon. Andi was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her four sisters: Mary Weidner, Irene Siegenthaler, Rita Campbell, and Pat Ury, her two brothers: Duane Siegenthaler and Dean Siegenthaler, and her best friend, a loyal cocker spaniel companion of 15 years, Miss Scarlett. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Daniel O’Lena (Kimberly), Deb Fecho, and Dodi Petersen. Grandchildren: James O’Lena (Audrey), Emily Clark, Jonn O’Lena (Melissa), Hayleigh Fecho, and Ashton Petersen. Great grandchildren: Asher O’Lena, Ainsleigh O’Lena, Julian Petersen, Zelda O’Lena, and baby Oliver O’Lena, arriving in July. Andi’s children wish to express their profound gratitude to the entire team at Westhaven Community, Boone, Iowa, and to the nursing staff at Suncrest Hospice. Following her wishes she has been cremated, and no service is planned. A private interment will be held in Fonda at a later date.
