Bill Price 1940 – 2023 Hillsboro, Oregon Bill Price Feb. 8, 1940 - Oct. 10, 2023 Bill Dean Price was born in Cushing, Okla., Feb. 8, 1940, the sixth child of Roy and Nancy Price. He passed away at home Oct. 10, 2023, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Phyllis Price; their four daughters, Debbie (Kevin) Schmidt, Kim (John) Alcala, Natalie Price and Lisa (John) Kennedy; as well as six grandchildren, Tiffany (Tomas) Mosqueda, Amber (Chris) Michael, Stephanie (Corie) Wilson, Danielle (Marcos) Alvarez, Hannah (Mitch) Tamblyn and Isaiah Price; and 13 great-grandchildren, Taylin, Tatum, Tenley, Aislynn, Paitlyn, Jameson, Brooklyn, Essex, Everly, Lucas, Lorelai, Matthias and Olivia. He is also survived by his brother, Cletus Price; his sister, Nancy Byrd; and many other relatives and friends. After Bill married Phyllis they moved to Oregon, where Bill worked at The Oregonian for more than 40 years, and they built a life together that he never could have imagined as a small boy growing up in Oklahoma. Bill retired from The Oregonian in 2001, which allowed him to spend more time with his wife tending to the home they had built together and loved so much. Most importantly, however, Bill loved his family. Nothing gave him more joy than watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gather to celebrate holidays and birthdays or simply sit around the fire and play and laugh together. There were so many memories made over many decades, and our love for him is never-ending. We love you Papa. And, we will miss you forever.
