Carole Guidry 1942 – 1997 Carole was born April 19, 1942 in Billings, Montana. She was the second child of Ben and Rosemary Collins. She passed away in Houma, Louisiana on July 28, 1997. She attended school in Billings, graduating from Billings Senior High School in 1960. She attended Eastern Montana College for 1 year. She married Stanley Welborn in June 1962. They had three children, Claudia, Romna and Cohen. They moved to Kodiak, Alaska in 1965. Carole became involved with the local theatre company, making costumes, set designs, and helping in other ways. She also won the Title of Mrs. Kodiak in 1967. The family moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1969. Carole started her own bookkeeping service, and became very successful, implementing one of the first bookkeeping services to use computers. She was a natural when it came to learning and programming computers. Carole excelled at everything she did. She was an accomplished seamstress, cook, and piano player. In 1976, she met the love of her life, Doug Guidry. Carole and the kids moved to Houma, Louisiana in 1977. Carole and Doug blended their family to incluce Duaine, Greg and Chris Guidry. Doug and Carole owned and operated a successful CPA firm in Houma. Carole also programmed and trained several of their clients on their own computer systems. She acclimated quickly to the Cajun culture of South Louisiana. Carole's legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Lauren, Cody, Robert and Dylan, and great grandson, Theo. All of her grandchildren are college graduates, which would bring her great joy and pride. Carole was diagnosed with cancer in October 1995. She fought a courageous, difficult battle, and succumbed to the disease July 28, 1997, surrounded by her family.
