Cordelia Pape 1921 – 2011 Cordelia K. Pape, 90, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Saturday morning, October 8, 2011, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Cordelia Katherine Jorgensen was born on April 22, 1921 in Baldwin, Iowa, to Hans and Sophia (Jorgensen) Jorgensen. She was a graduate of Baldwin High School. She married Marvin Pape on October 14, 1947 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 1, 1974. Cordelia was a homemaker and through the years had also worked for Martha's Store in Hurstville, Maidrite and the Green Mill Cafe. She also had done childcare in her home. Cordelia enjoyed collecting anything and everything and loved having pen pals all over the world. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Just like in life, Cordelia gave of herself in death through the gift of tissue donation. Cordelia is survived by her children, Cindra Morehead of Maquoketa, IA, Alan (Rhonda) Pape of Maquoketa, IA, Craig 'Stub' (Cindy) Pape of Maquoketa, IA, Missy (Dave) Dostal of Maquoketa, IA, and Mark (Renee) Pape of Maquoketa, IA; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson; and a sister, Sylvia Costello of Delmar, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Jim Bontrager, and two brothers, Elroy and Alvin Jorgensen.
