Douglas Shannon 1968 – 2025 Little Rock, AR On December 23, 1968, the chilly and dry weather was typical in Little Rock for late December. How delightful for the Shannon family to have a Christmas such as this where Douglas Brian Shannon was born two days before Christmas in 1968, as his mother, Kathy Shannon, and father, Richard Shannon, gazed fondly at their new born. Doug was their second child, and second son, but never second in their hearts. His childhood was filled with love and laughter that made a bright beginning to all that he learned and experienced in his later years. Doug went to BLANK elementary school in Little Rock where he excelled at soaking up knowledge. His education continued at BLANK through junior high school and then onto BLANK high school. Although smart enough to go into college, he chose not to go that route; instead, he went to work at his first job at BLANK{McDonalds}. Work ethic was first built working for his father at construction sites. Morals and values were nailed into his body that stood the test of time. Douglas would easily succeed at work by having that levelness and calm demeanor, by which others respected. His enthusiasm for music started at age BLANK when he got his first instrument, a wind instrument, the {trombone} from BLANK. His love for guitars started later when his first guitar was given to him. Guitars turned into a life-long hobby that would sustain Doug through both good and hard times. Doug went to Pilgram's Rest Missionary Baptist Church on Col. Glen Rd. where he was baptized in {1978}. Faith and devotion in God kept Doug grounded in life yet still kind-hearted to anyone who came to him. His youth pastor and life-long friend, Brother Randy Hawkins, was someone who helped forged the man that Douglas became.
