Edwin Kipu 1955 – 2024 Edwin Brian Kipu, known affectionately as Ed, passed away on July 20, 2024, at the age of 68 in his birth and hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii. Born on August 15, 1955, Ed was a man whose life was as rich and vibrant as the Hawaiian culture he loved and represented. Ed attended Farrington High School and continued to honor his family legacy by mastering the trade of glazing. His dedication to his craft led him to become a respected business owner of Kipu Glass, as a second-generation glazier where his workmanship and dedication were well known. A man whose heart belonged to the ocean, Ed's pastimes included fishing, diving, surfing, crabbing, and camping. These activities were more than hobbies; they were a testament to his love for the Hawaiian landscape and his connection to the sea. His appreciation for Hawaiian culture and his collection of tales from the many beaches he frequented were as much a part of him as the sands and waves. Ed's memory will be carried on by those who loved him and by the legacy of his love for the ocean that he passed down to his family. Preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Stanley Kipu. Survived by his daughter Chelsea (Tony Chavez), his son Christian (Leina Kipu). His grandchildren Dylan, Christiana, Avery, Classyc, Shaelyn, Anela, Christian Jr., Breeze, Alohi and Calista. His great-grandchildren Xavier, Joni, Kekoa, Kainoa and Thomas Jr. (due 10/21/2024). His sisters Tamra Kipu (Tommy Kiyabu) and Kimberly Kipu. Ed's spirit will forever be present in the beauty of the sun rising and setting. He will be missed by all who’s lives he touched.
