Jacob Bloom 1995 – 2025 Chalmers, IN Jacob Cole Bloom, lovingly known as Jake, was born on February 2, 1995, in Lafayette, Indiana, and resided in Chalmers, Indiana. He passed away far too soon on June 3, 2025, at the age of 30. Jake was a devoted fiancé, father, son, and friend. A proud truck driver, Jake approached his work with incredible dedication and a strong sense of responsibility. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back without a second thought—hardworking, humble, and always ready to lend a hand. He had a wide range of passions that reflected his love of life: from golfing and skiing to gardening, traveling, and catching a movie. He was a loyal Purdue football fan and never missed a chance to cheer on the Chicago Cubs. He loved live music and made unforgettable memories attending concerts with the people he loved. Jake had a beautiful, infectious smile that lit up every room he entered. His warmth and kindness made everyone feel welcomed and accepted for exactly who they were. He was not only handy and resourceful, but had a heart full of love and generosity. Jake was engaged to the love of his life, Becca Hamady. Together, they shared a deep, joyful bond and built a beautiful family. He was the proud father of Charlotte, their vibrant two-year-old daughter, and was looking forward with excitement and love to welcoming their second child in January 2026. More than anything, Jake cherished being a father and partner—his family was his greatest joy and his proudest accomplishment. Jake’s memory will live on in the lives he touched, in the laughter of his children, and in the love he gave so freely. As one of his favorite quotes reminds us: “Not all who wander are lost.”
