Jamie Brannan 1988 – 2023 Thank you for scanning the QR code and showing an interest in who James was. James is known to his family as Jamie, but was given the name James at the last minute for use if he ever decided to become the prime minister! Which clearly he didn't! His colleagues, friends and wife know him as Jay. Jamie was a geek who loved gaming. His mantra was value for money. So much so that he had a designated evening route round the local Co Op stores, knowing exactly what time each one reduced their doughnuts. Jamie enjoyed the simple things in life, only ever seeking just enough to be comfortable and happy. He was rubbish at keeping in touch, he would never reply to a text and was always last minute with plans. He loved a family games night though and was definately a great source of entertainment with his nieve thinking and love of all things childish and silly. Jamie was only 18 when his daughter Kiara was born. Not in a relationship with her mum, Jamie fought hard to be consistently present in Kiara's life and being so young he learned as he went, making the usual mistakes but always coming from a place of love. He met and married Sam, taking on her young son Zak as his own. They then had Harrison, whom he lovingly referred to as the ginger ninja!. Jamie was all about his family and did little else outside of his home accept for work. Weekends were all about family time whether that was messing about at home, shopping for bargains or enjoying days out. He worked hard and always provided for his family. Sadly, his career as a BT openreach engineer, which he loved, was only just beginning when he was tragically taken suddenly with a problem with his heart. The month before his passing, Jamie had visited a crematorium with work. He rang Sam and told her that he was amazed at the place and then proceeded to tell her everything that he wanted to happen at his own funeral. He then came to a family games night and told us all, one by one, every last detail. None of us knew that this information would be so important only a few weeks later. Jamie had all of his wishes- to have his death checked by Luke, his paramedic brother in law (but only if he hadnt pissed him off as then he may fib and say he was dead when he wasnt!), to be buried and to have a survival kit in with him including a whistle, shovel, torch, mobile phone and of course some snacks. Jamie lived in his PJ'S so of course is dressed in those now. He lies here with his childhood teddy - dippy the dinosaur - who was lovingly won by his dad in Blackpool on our first family holiday. There is no sense as to why Jamie's time was so short, but in his short 35 years he lived the life that he wanted - not an easy path and lots of lessons learned but he laughed, he loved and he was loved so dearly in return, and that was enough. As his family, we are super proud of the man that he was, for the values that he lived by and for the joy that he brought to our world. A part of us all lies here with Jamie, never to be replaced for any of us, but something that he can keep with him so that he is never alone.
