Karen Motley 1951 – 2025 Las Vegas, Nevada Karen Lynell Motley, of Ecorse, Michigan, was a woman whose life was defined by selflessness, love, and generosity. Born in 1951 and deeply rooted in the Detroit area, Karen lived with an open heart and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. Karen was the kind of person who would give her last to someone in need — whether family, friend, or stranger. Helping others was not something she did occasionally; it was who she was. She showed love through action, presence, and sacrifice, never expecting recognition in return. She was known for her deep love of dancing and for hosting family gatherings that brought everyone together. Karen’s home was a place of warmth, laughter, music, and comfort. She was, in every sense, a walking catering party — always making sure everyone was fed, comfortable, and truly enjoying themselves. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Desmond Kurt Moy and Tiffany Nichole Russaw; her grandchildren, Treliyah La’Dayja Moy and Aaron Maximus Payne Jr.; her great-granddaughter, Ocean Zoelle Holman; her sisters, Ann Carter and Drucilla Henderson; and a community of family and friends who were forever changed by her love. Karen did not want sadness to define her passing. She wanted joy, togetherness, and celebration — and that is how she will continue to be remembered: as a woman who loved deeply, gave freely, and made everyone feel at home.
