Kaylee Culvahouse 2008 – 2024 Corpus Christi, TX Kaylee Ashlyn Culvahouse was our beloved daughter, sister, and friend. From the very beginning, she experienced the world in her own unique way. An earth angel in the truest sense, Kaylee arrived exactly as she was meant to be and left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her. Though nonverbal, she knew what she wanted and made it known without words. She lived in the present moment and understood what truly mattered. She was brave, had a playful sense of humor, and her contagious, joyful laughter filled every room. Her communication was powerful, sometimes playful and sometimes very clear, and she could say everything with just a look. Kaylee faced many challenges and met them with quiet strength and resilience. She showed us that strength does not need to be loud and that wisdom does not require words. Being with Kaylee asked you to slow down, be present, and respond honestly. Those who met her there were changed by her light. She was deeply loved by her family, siblings, friends, teachers, caregivers, and the many people who walked alongside her throughout her life. Kaylee had a way of bringing out the best in others, inviting patience, sincerity, and connection, often without anyone realizing they were learning from her. Kaylee transitioned suddenly and unexpectedly, surrounded by love. Though her time here was far too short, her journey is not over. Kaylee’s Light continues to guide us through love, awareness, and acts of kindness carried forward in her name. She remains deeply missed, forever loved, and always part of us. About Kaylee’s Light Foundation / Learn More Kaylee lived with epilepsy. She transitioned suddenly due to SUDEP, Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy, a condition that can happen without warning and is often not talked about. In her honor, Kaylee’s Light Foundation exists to bring SUDEP awareness, education, and protection to other families, and to help ensure that Kaylee’s life continues to make a difference.
