Kennady Trettin 2009 – 2024 Clancy, Montana It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Kennady Lynn Trettin, a bright and beautiful soul who left us far too soon at the tender age of 15. Kennady passed away on October 9, 2024, in a tragic accident, leaving an immeasurable void in the lives of her family, friends, and all who knew her. Born on April 1, 2009, to Patrick and Robyn Trettin, Kennady joined her older brother, Teagan, to complete their loving family. From the moment she arrived, Kennady brought spark, sass, and boundless love into their world. Her vibrant personality and radiant smile could light up any room, and her genuine, kind-hearted nature endeared her to everyone she met. Kennady’s life was one of energy, passion, and adventure. She attended Montana City School from Kindergarten through eighth grade before moving on to Jefferson High School, where she thrived in both academics and extracurricular activities. A natural athlete, Kennady excelled in gymnastics, swimming, soccer, skiing, cross country, volleyball, and wrestling. Her most recent passion was surfing behind the family boat—a skill she mastered with grace and determination. She spent countless summer days perfecting her moves, even taking to night surfing, and loved sharing her enthusiasm by teaching others with endless patience and encouragement. Kennady had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished cat, Nacho, and dog, Cooper, who were showered with her affection at every opportunity. She hoped to one day volunteer at the Lewis and Clark County Humane Society and found joy in visiting the animals there. Fashion and beauty were another of Kennady’s passions. With dreams of becoming an aesthetician, she honed her craft by practicing makeup, nail art, and beauty techniques on willing participants—sometimes even roping her dad into nose and ear waxing sessions, much to everyone’s amusement. Kennady was bold, confident, and always ready with a cheeky suggestion to help her refine her skills. Spa days with her mom were among her favorite activities, and she loved keeping her nails and style on point. Kennady’s zest for life extended to every aspect of her days. She loved decorating for holidays, crafting, shopping, watching UFC, and spending time with family and friends. Kennady’s nurturing spirit shone in her love of babysitting. She had a natural warmth and motherly way that made her a favorite among the kids she cared for. Her dream of one day traveling to Paris reflected her adventurous and curious nature, as did her love for thrill-seeking experiences like theme park rides and her future plans to skydive with her mom on her 18th birthday. Kennady was more than a daughter, sister, and friend—she was a beacon of light, love and joy. She was strong, courageous, and filled with an unshakable compassion that inspired those around her to be better, to love harder, to cherish each moment. Kennady had so much joy and love for family and friends, her soul was truly remarkable. She had a way of making people feel special, of bringing warmth into every space she entered. She was the kind of person who made the world a better place just by being in it. Her purpose in life seemed clear: to bring happiness to those around her, and she succeeded in this beyond measure. Though her time on earth was far too short, Kennady lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, love and unforgettable memories. Her spirit and legacy will continue to shape us for the rest of our lives. Her absence is deeply felt, but Kennady’s goodness, her light, her spirit live on in those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. To honor her is to carry that light forward—to live with the same kindness, the same generosity, the same boundless love that she so effortlessly shared. For Kennady, we choose to celebrate the incredible gift of having had her in our lives. She will forever be cherished. Family and friends have planted a tree in remembrance of her. There are also “friendship” benches at Montana City School and Jefferson High School for students to visit and feel her spirit of friendship and love.
