Larry Eugene Dorr passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, at the age of 80.

Born on February 14, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa, Larry was the beloved son of Loren and Marian Dorr. His father, serving in the Navy during World War II, did not meet his son until Larry was 16 months old - a story that would remain a cherished part of the family’s history.

Larry grew up in Des Moines and graduated from North High School in 1962. He went on to attend The University of Iowa and Central College.

In 1969, Larry married Becky, with whom he shared 55 years of devoted love and partnership. Together, they raised three children: Stephen Eugene Dorr (Courtney), Anne Leslie Mahlik (Todd), and Joseph Peter Dorr. Larry was a proud and loving grandfather to six grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Jan Vogel (Bob) and three nephews.

Larry and Becky made their home in Littleton and Denver, Colorado, for over four decades before retiring to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, in 2019.
Throughout his career, Larry worked in mortgage insurance, real estate, and real estate appraisal- fields in which he was known for his professionalism and dedication.

An avid outdoorsman, Larry found great joy in nature. He loved golf, skiing, camping, hiking, hunting and fishing- pursuits that brought him peace and many fond memories with family and friends.

Larry will be remembered for his positive attitude, quick wit, and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and kindness.
