Lena Vanmeter 1948 – 2024 The most amazing mom she worked 3 jobs to raise her children. She walked to and from work until she was able to buy a vehicle. My mom bought her first home in 1987 in Hialeah, Florida where she and my step dad James Vanmeter lived for many years I believe until 2003 then they moved to Kentucky when they had a home built from the ground up. In 2012 James Vanmeter passed away and my mom (Faye) became sick herself so she sold her home and moved back to Florida. Where she would live off and on with her children until she moved to live with her sister Edith , in Punta Gorda Florida. From 2020 until December 16th 2024 she lived in a five star ALF very beautiful place. In June 2024 the doctors said nothing else could be done for my mom and she was placed on hospice. The last year of my mom’s life was a struggle for her. On 12/16/24 I didn’t only lose my mom I lost my best friend. I still wait for the phone to ring and my mom be on the other side. I know now she’s a peace and able to breath and she’s with my stepdad and her brother Ernie and sister Brenda and her dad Robert and mother Bessie and other family members. I know she’s the most beautiful angel in heaven and she’s watching over me. I love and miss you so much mom wish I could turn back time. I honored all your final wishes all the way to the end. Really wish heaven had visiting hours I would visit you daily. Until we’re together again I’ll keep your memory alive and funny stories going I love you mom
