Mary Felix
1960 – 2026

Mary Elaine Felix was born on November 26, 1960 to Penelope Kratky and Gilbert Craven in Springfield, Ohio. They moved to Arizona when Mary was a young girl due to family allergies - and at that time where did you go? To the desert. She was a loving mother, sister, wife, and friend. She was spunky, fierce, outspoken, and a 30+ year thyroid cancer survivor. She retired from Discover Card, and prior to that worked at Tempe Camera. She loved the camera and was a really great amateur photographer. 

She loved playing Disney Dreamlight Valley and Animal Crossing on her switch. She would always send photos and suggestions regarding the game to her daughter Jessica - they would play together frequently. They would spend hours discussing the game and Mary would offer so many tips and tricks. They would even visit each others villages online and take fun photos together. 

She loved crafting. You name it, she's done it. Her recent favorites included jewelry making and cross stitching. She so enjoyed watching her soaps and cross stitching - a hobby she used to do in the 90s. A few weeks before her passing she said "You know you're very old when you are doing cross stitch and watching General Hospital". She was working on a cross stitch project for her daughter before she passed. A red-headed girl reading a book with her black cat by her side. 

She loved baking, especially bread. She made the best jalapeno cheddar bread. And her rosemary parmesan bread was mouthwatering. For the holidays she loved making homemade goodies: vanilla paste and extracts, sugars, cocoas, jams and jellies, and breads of course. She always went full out on her Thanksgiving dishes, and her sage and sausage stuffing was a must-have. Every Christmas she watched A Christmas Story on repeat. Her favorite Christmas song was "Blue Christmas" by Elvis. 

She loved animals. She had two dogs and 7 cats at the time of her passing. She loved horses and her life's dream was to own one someday. She was so passionate and outspoken about her political beliefs and how people should be treated. She had such an infections giggle. She loved thrifting and finding a good deal. Everything she did in life, she did for her daughter. 

Mary passed away very unexpectedly on January 30, 2026 from suspected heart issues. She is mourned deeply and missed terribly. She is survived by her daughter Jessica, sisters and brother Marcia, Marta and Casey, husband Ron, and nieces and nephews.
