Mike Crouse 1949 – 2024 Steven Michael Crouse, 75, of Knoxville, formerly of Hedrick, died at 11:59 p.m. September 10, 2024 at his home. He was born January 13, 1949 in Wapello County to Paul Sherman and Mary Carolyn Ragen Crouse. He married Lynn Ann Smith Clark April 9, 2023. A 1967 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Mike served in the US Army from 1969 to 1971 having served in Vietnam. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years, retiring in 2006 after 15 years as Postmaster in Blakesburg. Mike was a lifetime member of Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans, and was a charter member of Purple Hearts of Wapello County. He coached little league for over 6 years and was past president of JeWaKe Little League. Mike enjoyed going to casinos, hunting, fishing and loved the outdoors as well as spending time with his dog, Zeus. Surviving is his wife, Lynn Ann; his children, Debbie (Ed) Cummings of Norman, OK, Cindy (Chad) Hines of Knoxville, Mycaela (Kyle Freischlag) Crouse of Wellman, Tyler (Alex) Crouse of Carlisle, PA, Breanna (Cory) Reuter of Ankeny and Kayloni (Jordan) Langley of Ankeny; daughter-in-law, Amy (Jeff) Crouse-Spurgeon of Ottumwa; 18 grandchildren, Miranda, John, Jacob (Naomi), Dylan, Jacey (Caleb), Nicholas, John (Alli), Chloe, Camdyn, Mason, Lucas, Finn, Lyla, Cade, Brynlee, Avynn, Kash and Thorin; 5 great-grandchildren, Brinley, Adylan, Easton, Eloise and baby Cummings; and 2 brothers, Paul “Craig” (Vicki) Crouse and Marvin Douglas “Doug” Crouse (Terri Carr) both of Wapello County. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, James Crouse.
