Walter Behrens Jr 1936 – 2024 Walter Edwin Behrens, Jr., recently of Rockwall, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1936, in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, to Walter E. Behrens and Eleanor Cullen Behrens. Walter was united in marriage to Joyce Bernice Joslin on November 3, 1957, in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, beginning a beautiful life together that spanned over 67 years. His career with United Parcel Service spanned 31 years, leading to his well-deserved retirement in 1992. A man of many interests, Walter was an avid reader and loved spending his free time on the golf course, enjoying time on the water boating, or catching a good movie. He had a passion for traveling and cherished moments with his family and friends. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. Behrens and Eleanor Cullen Behrens; his brother, Charles Behrens; his sister, Dorothy VanKirk; and his grandson, Ty Robert Rheudasil. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Behrens; his children: Laurie Murdoch, Tim Behrens and wife Melissa, Maureen Cook and husband Joel, and John Behrens and wife Krista; his grandchildren: Amy Lawrence, Holly Murdoch, Jenny Murdoch, Matthew Behrens, Layne Murdoch, Jr., Haley Vastine, Peyton Behrens, and Sean Behrens; and 13 great-grandchildren. Walter is also survived by his sister, Eleanor Vaughan and many nieces and nephews. Walter was a devoted member of the Episcopal Church, whose faith guided him throughout his life. His legacy of kindness, love, and generosity will live on through the memories he created with those who knew and loved him. A service to honor and celebrate Walter's life will be held at Rest Haven Funeral Home- Rockwall Location, on November 3, 2024 at 2:00pm. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all whose lives he touched.
