William Robert "Bob"'s Obituary
William Robert “Bob” Capps, 94, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born on October 6, 1930, in Burkesville, Kentucky to Carlie and Zelma (Abney) Capps.  He married Gwen L. (Quick) Capps on February 19, 1974, in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.

Bob worked for Conrail for forty-four years, retiring as a clerk in 1992. 

He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Bible Church for the last twenty years where he also served as a greeter. 

Bob loved fishing and bowling.

Survivors include his wife Gwen, his children Larry, Bob Jr., Kenny, Glenn, Sharon, Laura, Cathy and Chris, brothers Carlie and Roy, a sister Jean, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carlie and Zelma, a daughter Marcia, brothers Larry and Tony, sisters Mary, Robbie, and Opal.

Pastor Todd Poynter will conduct a service on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2PM at Greenwood Bible Baptist Church, 1461 Sheek Road in Greenwood, IN.  Friends may call Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 12 Noon until service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Greenwood Bible Baptist Church for “Missions - in memory of Bob Capps”.  Bob had a heart for missions and would love to continue his support in his memory.

A private family graveside will take place at Round Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
