Barbara was born and raised in Upland, PA. Barbara graduated from Eddystone High School in Eddystone, PA. In 1958, Barbara worked at several places, such as Sunrock, Viscose, and Long Horn Ranch (steakhouse). Barbara started a new adventure and life in 1978, moving to Tennessee due to her husband's plant closing in Chester, Pennsylvania. Barbara worked in several places in Tennessee, Vol Parkway K-mart and Century 21 in Johnson City, and they owned Hudlow TV service and Haynesfield Speedwash. Barbara enjoyed being a Mommom. She loved crocheting, shopping, NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, and spending time with her sister, daughter, son, and grandchildren. She met so many people through their family business and was a friend to all of them. She loved to read and she had over 1200 hardback books that she gifted to her daughter. They are now proudly in their new library at her daughter's home. Barbara struggled with several illnesses over the past 25 years that enabled her ability to travel and enjoy special events with her family. Barbara suffered from Lewy Bodies Dementia. The past two years have been painful to watch. It caused her to be in a hallucinated state. Oh...the stories!! She would tell!!! The best one was that she got a new jet plane and obtained her pilot's license, and she flew to Denver, Colorado, quite often!! She loved her snacks and her Diet Coke. She loved hummingbirds. She had beautiful orchids and she had a heart of gold. She was very outgoing and had a very bubbly personality and she was a friend to all she met. Thank you to the staff at the Waters of Bristol for almost five years of care. Barbara’s celebration of life will be held at Sullivan County Vol. Fire Dept in Blountville, TN. There will be a small service, gospel music by Lightning Charlie, and plenty of food and good memories. If you can’t make it at 4:00pm for the service, we will be here for several hours.
