Blake Carrico

2008 – 2025
Lived in Okawville, IL

Let the memory of Blake be with us forever.

Blake was a bright, goofy, and loving soul who brought joy to everyone around him. A devoted brother, loyal boyfriend, and cherished son, he lived life doing what he loved playing baseball, basketball, and golfing with his dad and friends. He spent countless hours at the OCYA park shooting hoops with Landen, Zayden, and Kaden, loved riding 4-wheelers and side-by-sides with Drew or talking smack with Michael. Whether gaming on his PS5 or just hanging out, Blake’s laugh and smile lit up the room. His memory lives on in every swing, every ride, and every shared story.

The Eulogy I (mom) wrote for Blake

Today, we come together with heavy hearts to celebrate and remember the beautiful life of Blake Carrico, our son, brother, friend, and a truly radiant soul. Though only 16 years old, Blake left an incredible mark on this world, one filled with laughter, love, and light.

Blake had a smile that could brighten the darkest day. He was goofy in the best way always finding ways to make people laugh, to bring joy into the everyday. His spirit was infectious, and being around him made life feel lighter, easier, and more fun.

He loved sports baseball, basketball, and golf. He especially cherished golfing with his dad, not just for the game, but for the time spent side by side. That time together, full of conversations, laughter, and the occasional trash talk, was something special.

Blake was deeply connected to his family. He adored his sisters and loved being around them. Whether it was teasing them, laughing with them, or just being present, Blake was the kind of brother every sister would be lucky to have. And to me he was my baby. My momma’s boy through and through. That bond we shared was something words can’t fully capture, but I will carry it with me for the rest of my life.

When he was little, he was obsessed with his Spider-Man costume and truly believed he was Spider-Man. He wore that suit like armor, leaping around the house, saving the world one imaginary bad guy at a time. That playful, bold, fearless energy, that was Blake. Even then, he showed us what it meant to be a hero in your own way.

As he got older, Blake found joy in spending time with his girlfriend, Mylee, and his friends. Whether they were hanging out, eating Mexican, going on little adventures, TP’ing his friends over and over again or just enjoying the simple moments, those connections meant the world to him. He was loyal, caring, and he loved with his whole heart.

Blake’s time here was far too short, but his impact was immeasurable. He brought so much life and love into our world, and that love doesn’t end here. We’ll feel him in the laughter of his friends, the embrace of his sisters, the quiet of a golf course, and the many memories that will live in us forever.

We love you, Blake. Thank you for being exactly who you were. We will carry you with us always.
