Obituary

Robert “Bob” Edward Shambarger, age 67, of Bryan, Ohio, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Bob was a commercial truck driver and farmer. He was employed with JLC Transportation in Defiance and formerly worked with Metal Management, Isaac Corporation and Fleet Mate. Bob was a Deacon and financial secretary at Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, where he was an active member. Other memberships include the Farm Bureau and Fountain City Corvette Club. Bob loved to meet people, share many stories, travel, farm and play cards. Robert E. Shambarger was the oldest son of James E. and Betty (Snyder) Shambarger, born on March 26, 1949, in Adrian, Michigan. He was a graduate of Sand Creek High School and earned an associate’s degree from Michigan State University. He married Linda L. Miller on August 25, 1979, in Adrian, Michigan, and she survives in Bryan, where they lived for 37 years. Bob is also survived by his children, Megan (Justin) Klingler, of Warsaw, Indiana, and Merit Shambarger, of Lodi, Ohio; two grandchildren, Addison and Layton; brother, Richard (AnnaLee) Shambarger, of Croswell, Michigan; mother-in-law, Mary Miller, of Adrian, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Carole (Brian) Livingston, Cathy (Lawrence) Burr, Cindy Miller, all of Adrian, and Laura (Gary) Avery, of Saline, Michigan; and brother-in-law, Tom (Helen) Miller, of Adrian. He was preceded in death by his parents.
