Let the memory of Darrin be with us forever.
Darrin was the second son of Carolyn (Moore) and Raymond Dexheimer. He grew up in woods of Federal Way with his siblings Donevan and Trissa during a magical time when kids roamed. After graduating from Decatur High School in 1988, he joined the USCG (Portsmouth, VA).
A serial entrepreneur who worked in IT, Darrin raised his own family in Federal Way, Puyallup, and Spokane. Darrin’s love of flying & fearlessness led him to co-found a nonprofit, TeenFlight Puyallup, that teaches high schoolers how to build and fly aircraft. In 2020 Darrin found a new home in Arizona. He loved offroad adventures in his Jeep and long rides on his Harley, built a strong circle of friends, and surprised his family by taking up western dance.
Throughout his life, he passed on the values taught by his parents: loyalty, love of family, the importance of friendships, curiosity, hard work, and fun, followed closely by more fun.
Darrin is survived by his daughters Kala (Charlie Hoff), Samantha (Corey Corbin), Brianna (Daniel Showalter), and Jessica; grandchildren Skylar & Finn Hoff and Optimism Corbin; siblings Donevan (Rachel) and Trissa (Scott) Dexheimer; and many “bonus children”, friends, shipmates, dance partners, & outdoor-loving buddies.
He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, humor, and deep devotion to family.
