Let the memory of Davina be with us forever.
Davina Monique Blea, LMSW, of Tucumcari, NM passed away from Stage IV Cancer on April 22, 2024; surrounded by her loved ones in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born in Tucumcari, NM on March 19, 1979 to her loving parents David and Vicky Sandoval. Davina graduated from Logan High School in 1997 and married the love of her life, Manuel Blea, shortly after. Davina and Manuel started a family together in Tucumcari and have been together for 31 years. Davina loved her husband and family with all heart. Davina leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband Manuel Blea Jr., her sons: Manuel Blea III, DanielRay Blea Smith and husband Guy Smith, Dominic Blea and wife Rachel Blea, Johnathan Blea, and Christien Blea; as well as her precious grandchildren Malia and McKenzie Blea; both her parents, David and Vicky Sandoval; and her brothers: David Sandoval Jr., Christopher Sandoval and fiancé Angelene Romero, and Antonio Sandoval and wife Andrea Sandoval; and her many cherished nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother Robert Sandoval; Grandparents, Moises and Ruby Romero; and sister, Mary Sandoval.
Davina's impact extended far beyond the boundaries of family ties. Her professional accomplishments were numerous and significant. After graduating from New Mexico Highlands University with a Master of Clinical Social Work degree, she obtained licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Throughout her career she dedicated herself to working with families whose children had developmental or behavioral needs. As a mental health therapist she provided support to individuals living with moderate to severe mental health conditions, up until three months prior to her passing.
But it wasn't just through work that Davina made an impact - it was through the way she lived every aspect of her life. She raised her family to see people, as people first and foremost; teaching them always to treat others with love and respect regardless of their circumstances or background. Her selflessness knew no bounds - never too busy or too unwell herself to extend help where it was needed most.
The loss of such an extraordinary individual has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing Davina. The outpouring of grief at this time speaks volumes about the depth of affection felt for this remarkable woman.
