Obituary

Anthony Richard Seidenberg, known to nearly everyone who loved him as Rick, was born in 1955 in Rockville, Maryland, and passed away in 2026 at the age of 70. He lived 70 years with a fullness of heart that left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Rick was a devoted fiancé to Deborah, his partner of sixteen and a half years, and a deeply cherished bonus-dad to Misha. He cared tenderly for his mother, Alyce, through her battle with Alzheimer's disease, showing a quiet and steadfast devotion that defined the kind of man he was. Their family also included Bear, the family dog, who was undeniably Daddy's boy, the happy recipient of many a snuck piece of dinner.

A skilled building engineer, Rick worked with pride at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he made a habit of bringing small gifts to young patients and coming home each evening with warm stories to share. He later served as building engineer for a Catholic Charities assisted living facility, where he remained until his passing.

Rick was a dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was approaching 29 years of sobriety. He sponsored many people along the way, offering his time and presence without hesitation to anyone who needed him. That generosity of spirit was simply who he was. He would drop everything for a friend in need, and he treated every person he met as exactly that.

Every night without fail, Rick would walk through the door and ask, "How is my beautiful family?" He was selfless, nurturing, and wonderfully funny. He called Deborah "Angel Face." He loved enormously. He will be missed forever.
