Born in the small town of Maple Ridge, Charles Schmidt has always had a knack for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. As a child, he was known for building elaborate treehouse contraptions that could brew tea and play music simultaneously—a clear sign of his inventive spirit.

Charles went on to study engineering at a university whose name he can't remember (he swears it's not because of the parties), and afterward, he set off to travel the world. Along the way, he patented a self-folding hammock, climbed 43 volcanoes (only one erupted, and it wasn’t his fault), and discovered what he claims is “the perfect ratio of peanut butter to jelly.”

When he’s not tinkering in his workshop or scaling cliffs for fun, Charles enjoys hosting trivia nights at his local pub and teaching his parrot, Max, how to play chess. Charles currently resides in a quirky, solar-powered houseboat, where he continues to chase his next great adventure—or, at the very least, the perfect grilled cheese.

His motto? "If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t make a good story."
