Cody Tamayo

2025 – 2024

Let the memory of Cody be with us forever.

CODY‘s greatest accomplishment was undoubtedly the role he cherished the most being present and loving dad to his wonderful daughters, Audrina, Azalea and Ivy. watching him with his girls, you could see what it meant to him to be a dad who was there in every possible way his love for them, and his wife was boundless and encompassing every ounce of his being. CODY was also a person who believed in living to its absolute fullest a true foodie at heart. He relished every meal, especially a full stuff a pizza platter, helping full of breakfast from the local restaurant. Not sure if it was the food or the challenge or both! as well as every gathering whether it was grand family function, or a backyard barbecue he adored his family finding pure joy during Christmas celebrations with his mom, the family annual cemetery cleanup and our family annual family Fourth of July Long Beach Washington CODY and his cousin Emery would say a true stole stall were when it came to the family cemetery very rarely missing an annual cleanup CODY just this last May said I love this place. I love our cleanup as he chose his final resting place outside of a large gathering CODY loved the weekend camping trips and quad rides in Florence or about anywhere he could go. This is where he felt most alive and free. One story that captures CODY‘s essence perfectly is one of his pranks. We had gone to our annual Christmas dinner in Portland with his family sister, Amanda, niece, Sadie, Wife, Samaria, and Mom and me driving in a rented suburban. The rain was pouring and we were on the bus I five about to miss our exit CODY with his playful nature shouted mom get over now you know like grand theft auto slide right now a Brock back memories of when he was a teenager, begging me for the grand theft auto video game convincing me to play along with him even then he pushed the boundaries breaking the fictional laws. How was testing the limits but despite living on the edge, CODY was a gentle giant a teddy Bear underneath that tough exterior. CODY and his uncanny ability to bring laughter and joy wherever he went his jokes, pranks and playful nature were contagious. He left poking at anyone he could get a ride out of especially his mom. It almost became a past time and his expected thing during our family gatherings. he would call his mom to say things like hi mom followed up quickly by and I love you and then I’ll call you back. That’s something we will all miss dearly, his laugh, the warmth of his hugs, his voice and those playful interactions. The gap left by his departure is a boy that cannot be filled CODY‘s boundless kindness and love all of his family stretched far across miles, including those he hadn’t seen in years his present was felt consistently his cousin Megan, whom he had met once very young lives in Spokane, Washington, CODY realized that was his cousin, and so he started a conversation with her over social media through no real memory of her at all their relationship grew, and he would check in on her and her kids regularly, she was supposed to make it this past memorial to the graveyard for annual cleanup. CODY was excited to meet her in person finally unfortunately she wasn’t able to come this year so CODY wanted her to know her absence was missed so he made a video of the cleanup at graveyard telling her he wished she were there. This was CODY’s heart always thinking of others loving you if you were family and holding you, dear in his heart. There are so many stories like this. I am sure we all one we could share. CODY‘s kindness extended to every living being he would see a puppy and immediately soften saying oh he’s so cute. CODY loved all animals from the horse rooster to the bees. He would always try to involve his brother JJ or his sister Amanda to assist with poking the bees near our Greek growing up it often was him alone as his brother and sister would not entertain the idea of being stung after poking them they would chase him. Of course they were wanting to sting him and he would run because he feared being sung, but he would continue to repeat this regardless of the fear CODY and his sister Amanda love playing log truck they would gather sticks shove them in the spokes of their bikes and ride all over property dragging those sticks. CODY‘s imagination was as large as he was. CODY lived by coat of unconditional acceptance and kindness qualities. The world could use more of. He never judge a book by its cover, always willing to reach out to anyone no matter what others thought. His compassion and empathy were ever present a lesson for us all on how to be better kinder human beings CODY was a man of faith as a young boy. He enjoyed his local Assembly of God attending regularly with his sister Amanda he held the Lord close to his heart. His faith was his guiding star, providing him with strength to weather. Life‘s mini storms. I take comfort and knowing that he is now at peace, embraced by the love of the Lord and forever being our guardian angel
