Demetri Mellos

Demetri Robert Mellos, 46, of McGill, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away peacefully at home on September 20th 2025. Demetri, known lovingly to his family and friends as “DR”, was born on October 28th 1978 to Greg Mellos & Terry Stanger in Ely, NV. DR grew up surrounded by family and friends that would remain at the center of his life. His greatest joy and his world were his wife, Jessica Mellos and their boys Vosh and Charlie. Nothing meant more to him than spending time with them, especially in the outdoors they all loved. A skilled and passionate hunter, he found joy in coyote hunting and sharing his hunting passion with those closest to him. What mattered most to him was not the tags he carried but the time he spent hunting alongside his wife and his boys, teaching them, encouraging them, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. DR also served on the volunteer fire department in McGill and Twin Falls, ID for many years. He found purpose in being part of a team dedicated to helping others and took pride in mentoring new firefighters, teaching them everything he knew. DR is preceded in death by his father Greg Mellos. He is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Mellos, his sons Vosh & Charlie, his mother & step-father Terry & Bill Stanger, sister Lexi (Roger) Thompson, brother Laton (Katie) Stanger, brother Tyler Stanger, nephews Dylon, Zachary, and Benji, nieces Zaylee and Swayzee; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends that he considered family. He will be remembered for his deep love for his family, service to his community, and his gift of making those around him feel like part of his circle. “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard” A.A.
