Emma Jean (Stephens) Shank, 79, of Franklin, went home to her savior on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin. She was born August 10, 1938 in Sand Springs, Kentucky to Elmer and Beulah (McClure) Stephens. She married Russell E. Shank on April 17, 1971 at Second Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin; he survives. She had been a bookkeeper for Matlock Ford, Spears Automotive, and Dale Cooper. She was a member of Greenwood Bible Baptist Church, and later became a huge part in her grandson's church, Blue River Baptist Church in Edinburgh. She enjoyed playing the guitar and performing at various health care facilities and church. She and her husband enjoyed vacationing in Florida to visit her son Randy, and go fishing. Family was very important to her, and she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Russell E. Shank of Franklin; children, Randy W. Blackwell of Englewood, Florida, Sheila A. Hood (Tom) of Franklin, and Dawn Surface (Richard) of Bargersville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, James Lester Stephens, Charles Stephens, Betty Donoho, Mary Ferrill, and Martha Cheek.
