Let the memory of Jo be with us forever.
Whether you knew her as Mom, Grandma Jo, Jo Anne or just an acquaintance, it was obvious that Jo Anne loved life and the people around her. She enjoyed all of nature's beauty and her time with family and friends. She took pleasure in helping people. The simplest of things in life gave her great pleasure like feeding her birds and watching natures beauty in her own back yard. Even in sickness, she rarely complained. Her glass was always at least half full.
Jo Anne was a member of the Asotin County Historical Society and Museum for 28 years and also served as President of the Board for approximately 14 years. Among her many accomplishments she enjoyed providing tours to young school children, creating new exhibits, sharing time with follow Board members on special projects. One of her favorite projects was to spearhead a drive to create a memorial honoring Sheriff John Wormell, who was killed in the line of duty in 1931. She was also very proud of her work to expand the military compilation and successfully grow the Museum general membership and Board members.
Besides her volunteer work she enjoyed beautifying her yard and maintaining her home, although according to her son (Jim) she was not nearly as enthusiastic about work in the house. Her favorite pleasure was watching the birds she would entice into her yard, keeping them well fed year-round.
Jo Anne is survived by her brother Robert, sister Louise and her children, Jim Miller, Cheryl Hansen and Jennifer Morgan. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and her many friends she loved.
In Jo Anne’s own words, "this is not good-bye but just till we meet again”.
