Josh and Ben were always doing something with the boys like taking them fishing, going camping, building fires, or like in this photo they had made them homemade bow and arrows and lined up cans to shoot at .... They are both missed tremendously because neither one missed a opportunity to do some kinda fun adventure with Seth and Jacob most of those adventures usually ended with food on the grill
Let the memory of Joshua be with us forever.
In Loving Memory of Joshua Floyd Vaughn Joshua Floyd Vaughn was a man of incredible depth, kindness, and passion. He had a heart that was as big as his love for music, and his soul resonated with melodies that brought joy and comfort to those around him. He was a protector by nature—gentle, yet strong—and his greatest devotion was to his family. Josh was a proud and loving father to Kaleb Seth, Jacob Wesley, and Madeline Grace. His children were the light of his life, and he carried his love for them in everything he did. A gifted writer and talented cook, Josh found ways to pour his creativity into the world. Whether he was crafting a heartfelt story or preparing a meal to share, he expressed himself with thoughtfulness and care. He was one of the smartest people you could ever meet—sharp, insightful, and endlessly curious. Life was not always easy for Josh. He faced struggles that many could not fully understand, yet through it all, he remained kind. His ability to keep his heart open, even in the face of hardship, is a testament to his strength and character. Josh's life reminds us of the importance of compassion, creativity, and perseverance. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he shared and the memories he left behind will stay with us always. We will forever cherish the music he loved, the stories he told, and the warmth he brought into our lives. Josh will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A Note on Mental Health Awareness Josh faced the challenges of schizophrenia, a condition that affects millions of people but is often misunderstood. His story reminds us of the importance of understanding mental health, offering support, and breaking the stigma surrounding these struggles. In his memory, we encourage kindness, compassion, and advocacy for mental health awareness so that no one feels alone in their journey. Rest in peace, Josh. You are loved beyond measure.

He was so proud of his children and to be their dad
With the threat of snow coming it reminds me of the first time our boys got a real snow day ...it started snowing the night before by the time we got home it was accumulated enough that Josh and Seth could make snow balls ...we were so excited to wake up to so much snow that we bundled up and headed to Ben and Olivia's house and played all day in the snow building snow men ...a memory we will never forget
When Josh and I were little—just 4 and 5 years old—we lived in Texas, and our grandmother’s house was right behind ours. One evening, after dark, she called us to come over and pick something up. Being small and a little nervous about the dark, we held hands as we made our way across the backyard. As we turned the corner of her house, we came face-to-face with the scariest thing our young minds could imagine—a possum! It screamed, we screamed, and without hesitation, I took off running, dragging Josh right along with me. My grandma said when she looked out the window to see what all the commotion was about, all she saw was me running full speed, with Josh flapping behind like a kite on a string—because there was no way I was letting him go. I always tried to take care of him and make sure he was safe, and that night was no different. Even in the face of a terrifying possum, I wasn’t about to let him go. As we got older that bond stayed intact and we actually got brother/sister tattoos of possums because of this story. I miss my little possum.
