Juanita Stookesberry

Juanita Pearl Stookesberry, 78, died at 8:40 p.m. March 26th, 2018 at Hospice House in Ottumwa. She was born May 23rd, 1939 in Iowa City to Ira and Goldie Cecil Porter. She married James Alva Stookesberry on December 31st, 1956 in Lancaster, MO. A resident of rural Ottumwa most of her life, she and her husband owned and operated Stookesberry Warehouse. Juanita was a member of the Davis Street Christian Church and the Rose Chapter #552 Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and mushroom hunting, but her number one love was spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband, Jim; her children, Christina Carnahan of Ottumwa, Glenna ( King) Block of Sparta, MO, Tim (Mike Dvorchak) Stookesberry of New York, NY; Four Grandchildren, James(Brittany) Carnahan of Ottumwa, King Boone(Leah) Block II of Ozark, Mo, Stacey (Andrew) Woodard, Sam ( Landyn) Block of Springfield, Mo; Eight Great- Grandchildren, Isabelle, Lilah, Cruise Carnahan, Augusta Warren, Adeline and Acre Woodard, KBIII and Cooper Block. Her siblings Jerry Porter, Cindy( Mike) Paddock, John(Mona) Porter, Mike(Pam) Porter, a brother and sister-in-law Gary and Theda Stookesberry. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Angela Carnahan, 2 sisters Lou Ann Porter, Naomi Chernotsky a brother, Rick Porter and her mother and father-in-law, Alva and Esther Stookesberry. Pallbearers were King Boone Block, Mike Dvorchak, James Carnahan, King Book Block II, Andrew Woodard, and Samuel Block.

We will forever miss you Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother! We keep you close in our hearts and all our memories with you. We will see you again someday in heaven. We love you Grandma Pearl!
