Karen Overby

Obituary for Karen Sue Overby Karen Sue Overby, 72, of Richland, Washington and New Castle, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Washington. She was born August 5, 1944 in Huntington, Indiana, the daughter of the late Max and Mary Jane (Fischer) Zirkle. Karen was a 1963 graduate of Marion High School and attended Ball State University where she studied elementary education. On September 17, 1966, Karen married the love of her life, Ken Overby. She worked as an office administrator at Comprehensive Mental Health Services in Delaware County. She loved to play the organ, paint, read Christian novels and play games with family. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in New Castle and while in Washington attended Riverview Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Ken Overby; a son, Kenneth Wayne (wife: Hilary) Overby of Arcadia; two daughters, Stephanie Lynnette (husband: Dan) Ewart of Greenwood and Rebecca Annette Miley of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jennifer, and Kathleen Ewart, Christopher, and Cailey Overby, William, and Katherine Miley. Karen was preceded in death by a son, Leslie Overby; a daughter, Rhonda Overby; a grandson, Daniel P. Ewart, and a son-in-law, Jason Miley.
