Let the memory of Lana be with us forever.
Lana Kay Stacy was born in Taylor, Texas on December 3rd, 1944, to Voyce Harvey and Flora Lucille (Delvige) Stacy. She passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday afternoon, April 20th, 2025, in the arms of her eldest son as she entered the gates of Heaven. Lana grew up on the Stacy family farm milking cows and raising chickens with her parents and three siblings, Chester Stacy, Tom Stacy and John Stacy. Lana attended 12th Street Elementary grade school and graduated from Taylor High School in 1963 where she played the self-taught French horn as a member and student conductor of the high school band and member of the stage band. As a junior, she played a solo at the Texas state interscholastic meet in Austin. Lana attended The University of Texas in Austin where she achieved first chair as a part of the Longhorn band and was a part of the Sigma Alpha Lota Honorary Music Fraternity. She graduated from UT in 1967 with a Bachelor of Music Education and again in 1992 with a Master of Educational Psychology. She would later achieve ABD as a Doctoral Candidate of Educational Leadership at Oral Roberts University in 2013. She served many school districts in the state as a psychologist and counselor. She proudly served Joshua ISD until her passing. Lana was married to and divorced from Marshall Martin with whom she had two children, Christopher and Stephen Martin. Lana’s greatest joy was being a mother to her two sons and Nana to her four grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and her love for the Lord could not be measured. She shared her faith, wisdom, love for education and passion for music with everyone that was blessed to know her. She dedicated her life to raising her sons in service of the Lord and others while being a devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin and Nana. Her passion for music and singing would be passed on to her sons, nieces and nephews as you would often find her behind the piano teaching and encouraging them how to sing, strum cords and play keys. She will forever be our firm foundation, guiding light and reflection of Jesus’ abounding love. She is preceded in death by her parents Voyce and Flora Stacy, her brother Chester Stacy and Marshall Martin. She is survived by her two children, brothers Tom & Angie Stacy, John & Nancy Stacy, Sharon Stacy with multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.Christopher Martin and wife Emily and their children Addie and Wyatt of Keene, Texas. Stephen Martin and wife Summer and their children Isaac and Jessie of Cleburne, Texas.
