Mary Asher

Mary Ellen Asher, 96, was the beloved heart of five generations—a cherished Mom, Granny, Great-Granny, and Great-Great Granny. A cornerstone of the Asherville, Kentucky community. Mary Ellen was a dedicated 82-year member of Cairo United Methodist Church, where her faith and service were woven into the fabric of the congregation.

As the longtime matriarch of Asher Farms, she had a zest for life that never faded; she was just as likely to be found cheering on UK basketball as she was taking a flight in "Miss Piggy" or hitching a ride in a piece of farm equipment. Above all, Mary Ellen’s life was defined by the many tiny hands she held and the immense love she gave. Her family will forever carry her memory and her favorite sentiment: "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."
