Michael Johnson

1960 – 2025
Lived in Charlotte, NC

Let the memory of Michael be with us forever.

Michael Kevin Johnson was born on May 28, 1960, in Frankfurt, Germany. He was 64 years of age when he transitioned to his heavenly resting place on March 24, 2025, while at home in Charlotte, NC. Michael was the son of Haywood Johnson, Jr., and Virginia M. Johnson. He graduated from Parkwood High School in 1978, then attended North Carolina State University where he pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1983. During his college years, he met the woman who would become his wife, Pamela Ann Jones, and followed her to Virginia while she completed her undergraduate and medical degrees. In 1984, Michael and Pamela were married in Hampton, VA, and from this union their two daughters, Krysta and Lindsay, were born. In 1994, the family relocated to Charlotte, NC, and Michael changed his career to IT project management work. He retired from Wells Fargo in 2021 and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He could often be found at the neighborhood clubhouse playing pool or ping pong, working out, or doing puzzles. He was fondly known throughout the Cresswind community as the “Mayor” and rarely met a stranger. Michael leaves to mourn his wife of 40 years, Dr. Pamela Johnson; 2 daughters, Krysta Johnson Wilson (Jonathan) and Lindsay Nicole Johnson; one brother, H. Keith Johnson (Teresa); and a Great Aunt, Emily Massey. He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Warren James Wilson, Cecily Ann Wilson, and Nolan Michael Wilson, who affectionately called him “Pops”, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
