Monroe's Obituary Monroe L. Yoder, 77, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 at his residence. He was born April 7, 1947 in Arthur, Illinois to Lewis A. Yoder and Mary Ann (Yoder) Yoder. He married Erma L. (Schrock) Yoder on November 27, 1971 in Arthur, IL, she survives. Monroe owned and operated Monroe Construction in general construction and masonry. He was a member of Greenwood Bible Baptist Church in Greenwood, IN. Monroe enjoyed golfing, traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and attending their sporting events. Survivors include his wife Erma L. (Schrock) Yoder of Indianapolis, IN, his daughters Marcia K. Jones (Chris) of Greenwood, IN, Karen R. Hewett of Indianapolis, IN and Karla D. Kutz (Justin) of Arcola, IL, grandchildren Emma Jones of Chicago and Elliott Jones of Greenwood, IN, Austin Kutz and Averi Kutz both of Arcola, IL, brothers John Yoder (Alta) of Arthur, IL, Joe Yoder (Jean) of Wagener, SC, Elva Yoder of Goshen, IN, Chrissie Yoder (Katie) of Arcola, IL and Noah Yoder (Verna) of Arthur, IL, a sister Ella Miller (Adlai) of Arthur, IL, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Reuben Yoder and Floyd Yoder, sister Lucy Troyer, son-in-law Joseph Hewett, sister-n-laws Jane Yoder and Mary Yoder, and brother-in-law Henry Troyer. A service will be conducted on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11AM (Central Time) at Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 1690 State Highway 133 in Arthur, IL 61911 with a visitation from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 3PM until 6PM at Greenwood Bible Baptist Church, 1461 Sheek Road in Greenwood, IN 46143. Burial will follow the service in Arthur Cemetery in Arthur, IL.
