Oscar Martinez

Oscar Martínez was born in Guatemala, where he grew up a quiet, shy boy surrounded by the farm life he loved — animals, open fields, and simple days. As a young man he immigrated to the United States, where he started a new chapter, eventually marrying and becoming a proud father to his only child. Hard-working by nature, Oscar spent most of his life in construction, plumbing, and especially landscaping — his true passion, which even grew into his own small business. He loved music, especially rancheras, and enjoyed celebrating, laughing, and being surrounded by good company. After navigating significant health struggles, including dementia, Oscar passed away peacefully, remembered for his gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and deep roots in the place and culture he came from.
