Reily Junkermeier

1991 – 2025
Lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Let the memory of Reily be with us forever.

Reily was born 11/26/1991 in Tyler, MN, the first of 4 kids for parents Denny and Shelley (Howard) Junkermeier. In 1994, his brother, Brady, joined the family. The two boys had so much fun playing and giggling together. Reily loved having his little brother as a playmate. In 1998 his twin sisters, Jordyn and Kelsy, joined the family. Reily was such a caring big brother and great help to mom.

In 2002, the family moved to Fairmont, MN. This was great because it was closer to grandparents, Ken and Marlys Breen in Blue Earth and Dale and Karin Junkermeier in Fairmont. Reily very easily made friends in the new neighborhood and had a great social network. He loved spending time with buddies having fun outside as well as lots of time playing video games with friends and his brother.

One of Reily's yearly anticipated events growing up was the week that the family spent up north on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes with extended family. He had a blast those weeks with his cousins, aunts/uncles and Grandma Marlys and Grandpa Ken. He learned to fish there and liked watching Uncle Steve "clean" fish.

Reily participated in many sports growing up. He earned a number of belts in TaeKwonDo, played soccer, basketball, football and golf. After graduating high school, Reily continued with golf whenever he had some free time.

Reily's first job at 15 years old turned into a long term job. He began working at Pizza Ranch in Fairmont and after graduating from Fairmont High School in 2010 he moved to Mankato for college and continued at Pizza Ranch in Mankato until he graduated from South Central College for Ag Business.

In May of 2017 Reily moved to Sioux Falls,SD to begin his new career in ag business at RDO Equipment. He worked there for 7 years. His siblings eventually joined him living in Sioux Falls. He was a good big brother and would help any one of them out if they needed something. Reily liked spending time with his brother, sisters and parents. They all spent time together often going to restaurants, playing card games and trivia games, as well as going to classic rock concerts together.

Reily loved music and learning about classic rock musicians. It all started when he was a baby and his mom would rock him and sing to him; most commonly "Time for Me to Fly" by REO Speedwagon. He grew up listening to class rock "hairbands" with his parents, especially when traveling. As an adult, his Aunt Kelly Schueller teased him that she was going to sing "Time for Me to Fly" at his wedding someday.

Reily's favorite band was Metallica. Of all the concerts he went to, the Metallica concerts were his favorite.

Reily was great at retaining what he learned about those bands, as well as a lot of other knowledge that he picked up from reading about many other subjects. He enjoyed reading and learning. Everyone benefited with Reily on their trivia team.

On the morning of 11/26/2025, the family was devastated to find that Reily had passed away in his sleep due to alcohol related health issues. We are hopeful that he went peacefully and comfortably with pleasant dreams of his life memories and everyone that loved him so much.

The family is broken. But the memories of his face, voice, laugh, personality, and knowledge will never be forgotten.

"We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone: for parts of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide: and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Ron Tramner"
