Richard Countryman

1953 – 2026

Let the memory of Richard be with us forever.

He born in Algona, Iowa to Betty and Richard Countryman Sr. He grew up on the farm over by Titonka, Iowa. Married Kimberly Hensley his highschool sweetheart and she would later become the mother of his only 2 children. Christopher Countryman & Jennifer Countryman-Smith. Richard would divorce Kimberly and then married Brenda. My dad worked several different jobs over the years. The milk man in the 70's, Tyson foods and other factory's, W&M welding in Sedalia, Missouri for the most part of his life. In the late '80s and early '90s, he was a part of the Arrow Rock lyceum theater. He would not only act on stage but he also did a lot of the mechanics behind the scenes. Enjoyed playing a lot of pranks when doing lights and sounds for the dinner theater. In early 2000s he moved to Northern Iowa to help his younger brother Dennis Countryman company by working on his equipment and becoming a certified shit spreader. He was very proud of being a certified shit spreader too. After a combine tractor tire fell on his ankle and shattering it he retired for the most part. In 2017 he moved to Eldon Missouri in order to help his daughter with her home and animals as she started traveling more. In 2020 we all moved out to the country in Macks Creek, Missouri. This is where he spent his best years. He worked his whole life never having hobbies, he did not enjoy sports or fishing. The man just worked his whole life away. In his retirement though, he enjoyed watching the bald eagles and every summer his hummingbirds population grew into a shimmer of over 30. Anybody who knew my dad knows that he was a very simple man. It did not take much to make him happy at all. His favor enjoyment was a nice cup of black coffee, his full flavored cigarette, and dark chocolate while sitting on the deck staring at the horizon. My Dad didn't judge anyone, never took sides, and was always ready to help anyone with anything. He was a jokester and love to play pranks on people. If he wasn't picking on you and giving you a hard time then he didn't really like you.
