Obituary

Ricky McClinon, known warmly to so many as Rickymac, was born in 1953 in East Chicago, Indiana, and spent his later years calling Glendale, Arizona, home. He passed away in 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by generosity, hard work, and an unmistakable love for life.

Rickymac lived life on his own terms. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand, strike up a friendship with a stranger, or speak his mind with honesty and care. He had a deep passion for painting and a remarkable gift for drawing wisdom from life's experiences, lessons he passed on freely to those around him. He was never afraid of a challenge or of getting his hands dirty, and the people who knew him understood they could count on him, whether they needed a friend, a teacher, or simply someone to show up.

Ricky is survived by his children, LaBlonda McClinon, Lamar McClinon, and Alicia (McClinon) Bell; his seven grandchildren, Danesha, Dontae, Dymon, Tremar, Ajańe, Josiah, and Genevieve; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Julia, Bessie, and Jerome who will carry his spirit forward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Viola McClinon; his son, Ricky McClinon Jr.; his sister, Blondie; and his brothers, Frank, John, and Larry McClinon. We take comfort in knowing they are together again in heaven.

Rickymac's love for life, his open hands, and the quiet wisdom he shared will continue to live in everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was, in every sense, someone who made the world feel a little more manageable just by being in it.
