Let the memory of Samuel be with us forever.
Sam loved his family, pets (Foxy & Harley), & his Harley Davidson motorcycle more than anything else in the world. He showed up anytime, anywhere when he was needed/wanted. His heart was so pure. He would help anyone anyway he could. He knew how to talk to people & 9 times out of 10, things went his way because of it. He definitely had the gift of gab. He joined the U.S Army in 1975 @ 17 years old & went on to Ranger school to become a U.S Army Ranger. He married his high school sweetheart right before he left for basic. They had their first child (Samuel Earl Youngblood II) in May of 1976. In 1984 they had their second & final child (Kimberly Ann Youngblood - Humphrey now). They raised them between Beech Island, SC & Augusta, GA. He worked as a chemical operator at Nutrasweet & once moved back to Wade, NC he worked multiple positions between DuPont & Cargill. Sadly, he lost his wife of 34 years in May of 2009. He was also disabled on the job late that same year. He was a loving dad, “Pepaw”, son, brother, uncle, cousin, & friend. He rode his Harley anytime he had the chance. He was also Vice President of a MC club for a few years until he decided to step back from “club life”. He made friends anywhere he went. He loved going to the Casinos either in Las Vegas or Cherokee with his wife before she passed away & his adult kids. He loved spending time with his family. He was the best grandpa to Josh Youngblood & Kirsten Wilson. Anytime he could he was making plans to do something with them. He’s always been more of a “girl dad” (Sammy & Kimberly are 8 years apart) so he spent a lot of time with Kirsten. She could do no wrong in his eyes. He was her number 1 fan. He treated his 2 pups like his (other) kids. Foxy was a Pomeranian that he got his wife when she found out she had cancer. Foxy was less than a year old when she passed away. Then Harley came along. He was one of Foxy’s puppies. He would make them breakfast; either eggs or cereal, made sure they had the best of everything, bathed them weekly along with grooming appointments, & gave them endless treats just because they made him so happy. He lost Foxy 11/18/2022 & that hit him hard. Harley passed away a year almost exactly (03/28/2025) after he did & I’m thankful he didn’t have to witness that. His presence is missed more than words could ever express especially for his kids & grandkids. Losing him was tremendous for them because he wasn’t just their dad/Pepaw but he was also their best friend. He had special bonds with each of them individually. I don’t think it’ll ever stop hurting.
