Let the memory of Scott be with us forever.
Scott was the most extraordinary man. With a true servant’s heart, his greatest wish was always to bring happiness to others. He filled our lives with love, joy, wisdom, kindness, and laughter, and he is so deeply missed.
Scott served his country for 34 year. He initially served as a young Marine beginning in 1983, and later through 31 years with the DC Air National Guard. In his free time, he could be found repairing the neighborhood playground, growing food for the local food bank, or quietly helping family, friends, and neighbors in countless ways.
Even after his diagnosis, Scott continued to think of others. He asked his wife, Erica, to keep their community garden going so it could continue donating fresh produce to Food for Others (scottsgardenforothers.org). His final wish was to provide the neighborhood children with a new playground. This wish came true with the help of the DCANG 113th CE Squadron who built the playground in his honor.
