Stacey Taylor

1967 – 2006
Lived in Wentzville, MO

Let the memory of Stacey be with us forever.

Stacey Akins Taylor was born to Brenda and Burly Akins of Spanish Lake, Missouri, and was a beloved big sister to her brother, Tony. From an early age, Stacey had an old soul. Though she was with us for only 38 years, the depth of her wisdom, intuition, and love left a lifelong imprint on everyone she touched.

Quiet by nature, Stacey had a remarkable gift for reading a room without ever needing to speak. She observed, understood, and cared deeply—qualities that made her the rock of her family. She was revered not only by her children and parents, but also by her in-laws, whom she embraced as her own. Stacey’s love was generous, unwavering, and deeply rooted in loyalty and sacrifice.

She met the love of her life, Tim Taylor, when she was still a teenager. Their young love blossomed quickly, and they welcomed their first child while navigating the challenges of parenthood and partnership hand in hand. Their love endured and grew, and in 1988, they made their union official in a quiet courthouse ceremony, joined only by two witnesses. They welcomed their 2nd child in 1989. By 1994, their family grew again with the birth of twins. Life’s journey took them through several moves before they found their forever home in Wentzville in 2002.

For many years, Stacey dedicated herself to being a homemaker. Once the twins were in school, she stepped into the professional world and found purpose and pride in her work as an Accounting Clerk for the City of Wentzville. She cherished the challenges of her job and the opportunity to build something meaningful for herself outside the home.

In 2005, shortly after her oldest daughter graduated from Holt High School, Stacey received a devastating diagnosis: terminal liver cancer, with no known primary source. Though doctors gave her just six months, Stacey’s strength, faith, and love for her family propelled her to fight for 13 months. In that time, she poured herself into her loved ones, healed wounds, strengthened bonds, and created unforgettable memories—including a once-in-a-lifetime family cruise that her children still cherish.

Stacey passed peacefully in her living room, surrounded by the people she loved most, in the dream home she built with her husband. Her passing left a husband to raise their four children, the youngest only 11, and a family forever changed by her absence.

Yet today, Stacey’s legacy continues to shine brightly. She would be incredibly proud of the life and family she built. Her husband, Tim, now embraces his role as a devoted “Pappy” to their growing family. Stacey is lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren—Kinley, Avery, Aubrey, Lily, and Roman—and one more on the way, sweet baby Raelynn. Two of them, Kinley Lynn and Raelynn, carry a part of Stacey with them in their name, honoring her middle name, Lynn.

Though she may no longer walk beside us, Stacey’s spirit lives on in the love she gave, the family she nurtured, and the strength she inspired in all who knew her.

Stacey was known her intelligence & wisdom. She requested to be cremated. Her ashes remain in her dream home and sit in the same room where she took her last breaths. That space now resides as play room where her grandchildren often play.

I’m grateful to have every minute we had together! Wish you could enjoy all your grandchildren, you would love all the unique personalities ❤️ My favorite memory of you is when we came home on the last day of school, must’ve been 5th or 6th grade and you greeted us with a balloon water fight! Blake and I had so much fun dodging the balloons and sneaking plotting our counter attacks.
