Tommy was born on October 4, 1932 to the late John Joseph Drew Sr. and Josephine Drew in Fort Benning, Georgia. He attended and graduated from Baker High School in 1951. He worked as a civil servant between 1951 and 1953 before he was drafted to the Army in June of 1953, he served his country in Germany until 1955. While serving his country he played on the Army Baseball Team and was later drafted by the Baltimore Orioles. He loved sports, the team and sports he loved the most was Alabama football. He played fast pitch softball for the Little Joes and Villa Nova. He was the starting catcher on two National Championship Teams. Tommy loved coaching, he coached the Edgewood Red Devils from 1966 and 1990. He worked for First National Bank and Wells Fargo for over twenty-five years, after retiring he became a bailiff for the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Department. Tommy was an animal lover; dogs however were his favorite. He loved playing Golf, especially with his Thursday Red Oak Golf Group and spending his mornings with his Burger King Breakfast friends.
