Victor Sedivy, Jr., died on October 2, 2010 after a long bout with cancer. Vic was born on August 8, 1931 to Victor and Anna Sedivy of Covington, OK. Vic graduated from Covington High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1952 and served on the USS Yorktown during the Korean War. Honorably Discharged in 1954, he attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a B.S. in geology in 1959. Throughout his career, Vic worked in most all areas of petroleum geology, but mainly as an independent exploration petroleum geologist. He was active within St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, serving on various committees, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Vic was preceded in death by his parents and son, Victor Sedivy, III. Vic is survived by his wife, Evelyn Sedivy, of Yukon; his daughters: Dr. Judy Forshee and spouse, Brad, of Norman; and Brenda Thompson and spouse, Dr. David Thompson, of Edmond, OK. Grandchildren include Alex, Loren, and Matthew Forshee, and Anna and Eva Thompson. Additionally, brothers and sister: Roger and spouse Dorothy Sedivy of Tulsa, OK; Frank Sedivy, of Tulsa, OK; and Willa Nichols of Broken Arrow, OK. He has numerous relatives in both Oklahoma and Texas. Wake services will be Thursday, October 7, 2010, at 7:00pm, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, OK. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010, at 10:00 am, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon. Interment will follow at the Yukon Cemetery.
