Obituary

William “Bill” Bass, 66, died on September 5, 2026, in Olympia Fields, Illinois.

Born on August 20, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois, Bill's working life was marked by dedication and versatility. He spent more than two decades as an insurance salesman, later served as a manager at Menard’s and more recently worked in automotive sales. Bill retired from the workforce in 2022.

Bill was known to be loving, caring, quick-witted and strong-willed. He found enjoyment in the simple and meaningful parts of life, especially gardening, cooking, selling antiques and collectibles and following his favorite sports teams. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.

He is survived by his life partner, Anne Baader; his sons Robert Bass (Lindsey), Kyle Bass (Lauren), Bradley Bass (Becca) and Eric Bass; his daughters Gina Bass and Gabriella Frigo (Jack Dematteo); his brother Joseph Bass and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by Duncan Baader, Ivan Baader and Rocco Baader, children of his partner, Anne. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bass and his mother, Frances Bass (Covelli).

Bill will be remembered for his warmth and humor as well as his fiercely loyal and protective spirit for his family. His larger than life presence will remain in the memories of all who knew him.

No services are scheduled at this time. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
