Frances Parras

Frances Mellissa Rodriguez Parras, aged 83, peacefully passed away on January 9, 2024, in San Angelo. Frances was born on December 5, 1940, in Big Spring, TX, she was the cherished daughter of Getrudez Rodriguez Sr. and Louisa Montelongo Rodriguez.

Frances graduated from Big Spring High School in 1958, and shortly thereafter, she married Ollie Mac Parras. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with five children. In pursuit of a better life, Frances relocated to San Angelo, TX, in 1986, where she continued to be the loving matriarch to her children and grandchildren.

Her love for children led her to a fulfilling career at Around the Clock Childcare Center, where she served as the cook for many years. Affectionately known as "the homegirl" Frances's warm and caring nature endeared her to countless children and their families. Panchita loved all people with an open heart.

Panchita is survived by her children: Cynthia Garza, Ollie Mac Parras Jr., Alonzo Parras, Jennifer and Keith Smart, all from San Angelo, TX; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and siblings Cipriano Rodriguez, Jovita Hernandez, Isabel Rodriguez, and Ramona Marquez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Getrudez Rodriguez Sr. and Louisa Montelongo Rodriguez; son Jesus Enrique Parras; granddaughter, Frances Mellissa Rodriguez; brothers, John Rodriguez and Getrudez Rodriguez Jr.; sisters, Ermelinda Garcia and Merejilda Cortez.
