Let the memory of Gary be with us forever.
Gary Ross Steffenson of Leander, Texas, died peacefully on January 17, 2021 at the age of 85 following a battle with Alzheimers disease and complications from COVID-19. Gary was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 6, 1935 to parents Henry Ross and Harriet Alice Steffenson (Morrison). Gary met the love of his life, Kathy White in 1958 through a carpool for their work at 3M. Gary and Kathy were married on August 5, 1961 until the time of Kathy's passing on March 25, 2018. Long successful relationships were a strength for Gary as evidenced from his 56 year marriage to Kathy, 38 year career with 3M and many lifetime friendships. Together, they had three children, Michael, Gregory, and Mary. The family moved to Texas in 1986. Gary enjoyed traveling the world with Kathy and playing Bridge and Poker with his many friends, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by Kathy, his parents, Henry and Harriet, and his sister Jean Dymoke. He is survived by three children, Michael Steffenson, Gregory Steffenson, and Mary Steffenson Birchfield; four grandchildren, Cynthia Pritchard (Samantha), Colleen Steffenson, Gabrielle Walton, and Emily Walton; great granddaughters, Adelyne Pritchard and Reese Pritchard; daughter and son in-law, Kim Steffenson and Roger Birchfield. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who love him dearly. Due to COVID-19, private services arranged by Beck Funeral Home will occur in Georgetown, Texas. Mass to be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 1:30 PM at St. Helen Catholic Church and after his Mass, Gary will be laid to rest and join Kathy at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery.
