Jay Moyer

1962 – 2024
Lived in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Let the memory of Jay be with us forever.

Jay Edward Moyer, 62, of Marietta, went home to be with the Lord on June 20th, 2024. He was the loving husband of Christine McCurdy Moyer (Matko), a devoted bonus father to Thomas McCurdy Jr. (Shannon), Tara Winters (Andrew) and Sean McCurdy (Paulina), and the world’s best Poppy to his grandchildren Aidan, Fiona, Penny, Juliette and Milo. He was anxiously anticipating the arrival of his sixth grandchild, a boy, due in July.

A Lancaster resident most of his life, Jay was born on May 30, 1962 to Jack E. Moyer and Gladys M. Moyer (Machamer). He was a graduate of Warwick High School and pursued a career as a Welder/Fabricator/Shop Foreman.

Jay is leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion that will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, his brother Jack Moyer (Marybeth), sisters Joy Sharpe (Jim) and Jill White, and his nieces and nephews.

Jay enjoyed music, playing guitar, antiques, spending time with his family, trick-or-treating with his grandkids, family beach trips and going to yard sales with his family in the spring. An avid fisherman, Jay loved spending time out on the Susquehanna River in his boat and was known to friends and family as the “River King.” He passed his love of fishing down to his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren.
