Joan Hancock

Lived in Miramar Beach, Florida

Let the memory of Joan be with us forever.

Joan was the quintessential California girl with an unequal magical personality displayed from an early age from daddy‘s helper, to cheerleader and queen of the prom. Joan was that unique personality who could change strangers to friends in minutes, a guiding light who added value to all those who called her friend around the globe. Joan was an entrepreneur, designer, leader, sister, best friend, partner, wife, and mother who embrace life as a great opportunity. After marrying Keith in 1980, they set out on a lifetime of adventure taking them around the world with stops in Aptos, California Agoura Hills, California, Sydney, Australia, London, England, Denver, Colorado, Naples, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, and lastly Miramar Beach, Florida. Together for almost a half century their partnership was complementary, each bringing unique, creative talents, and perspectives that when combined resulted in a lifetime of experiences and achievements, that underscored their love and belief in each other. Of all her wonderful attributes, none was greater than her role as mother and “Nana” to her children and grandchildren. With an indominable will to see her family succeed and grow to reach their own dreams and aspirations, Joan’s love of family was truly remarkable and unequivocal; always there to support without compromise, to advise without question, and to love without bounds. Her smile brightened every room, her laugh so infectious and her spirit and zest for life limitless. Simply stated, Joan was a shooting star that passed through our lives far too quickly, leaving us wanting more and hoping to measure up to her standard for goodness and happiness in sharing her life with those she loved. Joan was and will be eternally loved and leaves behind her husband, Keith, her daughters, Courtney and Brooke, grandchildren Mason, Katelyn, and Ashleigh, Sons-in-law Matt and David, her sister Stephanie, and brother Curtis, as well as countless friends who crossed her life‘s path as she lived her great adventure, all far too short yet forever, a shining example of a life and legacy well lived and truly fulfilled. We will miss her terribly and cannot wait to be by her side again.
