Obituary

Keri Ann McCray entered into eternal rest surrounded by the love of family and the cherished memories of a life lived with compassion, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear on August 11, 2026. Born to George Ann Tolar and Mickey Green, Keri was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and remarkable ability to make others feel valued, welcomed, and loved. Keri never met a stranger. Her warm smile, caring nature, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She possessed a unique gift for bringing comfort, laughter, and encouragement to those around her. Whether through a simple conversation, a helping hand, or a selfless act of kindness, Keri touched countless lives and was always willing to place the needs of others before her own. Above all else, Keri treasured her grandbabies. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, finding her greatest purpose and fulfillment in being a grandmother. Her grandchildren were the pride of her heart and the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with Bettie Jo, Annabelle Grace, Aiden Jay, Lexie Rose, Isaac David, and Traci LeeAn, creating memories that will forever be treasured by those she loved so deeply. The beach was Keri's sanctuary and place of peace. Whether walking the shores of Galveston or enjoying the sunshine along the Florida coast, she found comfort in the beauty of the ocean. She also possessed a love for art, creativity, travel, and experiencing new places. Among her most cherished adventures were her travels to Germany, memories she loved sharing with family and friends. Keri was preceded in death by her beloved son, Christopher Thomas; her father, Mickey Green; her mother, George Ann Tolar; her cherished grandparents, George and Betty Tolar, who played a significant role in her upbringing; her dear friend and the father of two of her children, John; and her aunt, Judy Tolar. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Jason McCray; her devoted son, Brett Thomas, whose steadfast love and presence were a constant source of comfort to her; her son, Stephen Thomas and wife Sarah Thomas; her son, Chevy Faught and wife Brittany Faught; her beloved grandchildren, Bettie Jo, Annabelle Grace, Aiden Jay, Lexie Rose, Isaac David, and Traci LeeAn; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, generosity, and love. Though Keri's earthly journey has come to an end, her family takes solace in knowing she has been reunited in Heaven with her beloved son, Christopher Thomas, and those who preceded her in death. After enduring many hardships and carrying burdens throughout her life with strength and resilience, she has finally found everlasting peace and rest. Her family finds comfort in imagining Christopher waiting to welcome his mother home with open arms, reunited once again in a place free from pain, sorrow, and suffering. The bond they shared was never broken, and the thought of their joyful reunion brings peace to those left behind. Keri's legacy lives on through the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the family she cherished above all else.
